In 1997 CHAS started with two main aims. To improve health and safety standards across Great Britain. To reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers. These days we have more than 500 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ subcontractors.
The Worksafe Partnership
Established in March 1991 as an independent safety consultancy Monitoring Safety On Site. Safety Officers undertake regular site visits and will advise on the complex issues surrounding this function including: The management of health, safety and welfare at work; consultation with employee techniques; information on accident prevention programmes; health and safety surveillance; undertaking safety monitoring and auditing; auditing safety procedures;
The Stone Federation
Stone Federation is the official trade association for the natural stone industry. The Federation coordinates all aspects of the industry and provides specifiers and users with a first point of contact for information, advice and guidance in sourcing an appropriate material and a reliable service. Stone Federation will provide the highest possible levels of service to, and representation for, its members, both individually and collectively.
The Tile Association
Formed in January 2000, The Tile Association represents the whole of the UK wall and floor tile industry under one organisation. It has more than doubled in size since originally formed and now has more than 950 members, consisting of tiling contractors, fixers, distributors, retailers and manufacturers. Its mission is to promote professionalism and technical standards in the tiling industry, as well as provide technical support to both members and their customers.

The other standards in the family focus on specific approaches such as audits, communications, labelling and life cycle analysis, as well as environmental challenges such as climate change.
